The bank’s relatively new department receives its first award from the SBA Utah District Office for the top-performing SBA lenders for fiscal year 2024
Ogden, Utah, April 18, 2025—Bank of Utah has received the Top Export Lender Award from the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) Utah District Office annual list of top-performing SBA lenders.
The SBA lending department at Bank of Utah is just over a year old, so the recognition is significant for a newcomer. “The award is a tremendous honor for us and shows the hard work my team has put into ramping up our services,” said Brett Jensen, SVP, SBA administrator at Bank of Utah. “We appreciate the excellent support from the SBA in championing small businesses to get the funding they need to prosper.”
SBA lending programs are key tools in helping entrepreneurs access the capital they need to start, grow and expand their businesses. Partnering with a local lender like Bank of Utah creates a valuable connection to learn about these loans. Bank of Utah has dedicated SBA specialists on staff with a deep knowledge of the application process and loan requirements. They can guide small business owners in gathering the necessary documentation, structuring their business plans for maximum impact and presenting financial projections in a way that resonates. As an SBA partner, Bank of Utah is invested in the success of the business and is genuinely interested in seeing it thrive. The bank can offer guidance on financial management and even connect business leaders to valuable community resources.
With over $955 million in SBA-backed loans delivered to Utah businesses, lending institutions across the state play a critical role in supporting Utah’s growing small business sector.
Bank of Utah and other top lenders will be celebrated during National Small Business Week alongside Utah’s 2025 Small Business Award winners. The official SBA Utah Lender & Small Business Awards Ceremony will take place on May 1 in West Jordan.
