As a recognized leader in industrial safety and ammonia refrigeration, Superior Industrial Refrigeration (SIR) continues to raise the bar when it comes to protecting people and promoting best practices across the industry. In March 2025, SIR proudly hosted Superior Safety Days in Ogden, Utah, for the very first time—bringing this important training event to our newest regional office to better serve businesses in Northern Utah and the surrounding area.
Superior Safety Days is SIR’s annual safety training event, open to anyone in need of OSHA-compliant HAZWOPER certification. The Ogden session marked an exciting expansion into a new market. The event welcomed food and beverage industry professionals as well as others working in and around ammonia refrigeration systems—united by a shared commitment to safety.
What is HAZWOPER?
HAZWOPER (Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response) is a set of OSHA regulations for workers who handle or may be exposed to hazardous materials. This training is crucial for protecting employees and ensuring safe, compliant operations in industries like manufacturing, environmental response, and industrial refrigeration.
SIR offers:
- 24-Hour HAZWOPER Training – For occasional site workers who may be exposed to hazardous substances.
- 8-Hour Refresher Training – Required annually to maintain certification and stay up to date on safety protocols.
By hosting this training, SIR reinforces its position as a safety-forward company dedicated to empowering others through education, hands-on experience, and regulatory knowledge.
